Using Recaptcha protection on your Contact Forms

With Shopit you can use our Forms feature to  create unlimited numbers of forms for your website e.g. trade contact form, insert them wherever you want. Any messages received will then be archived in the Messages area, and forwarded to a nominated email address.

In order to block spam hitting your contact form, we have an integration with the popular Google Recaptcha feature.

Connecting to Recaptcha

  1. Log into your Google account
  2. Visit reCAPTCHA Admin : https://www.google.com/recaptcha/admin
  4. Register a new site -i,e, give this setup a relevant name e.g. Shopit sites
  5. Choose recaptcha type "reCAPTCHA v2"
  6. We suggest choosing the "I'm not a robot" Checkbox
  7. Add your domain - this is your live domain for this sales channel
  8. Accept Terms
  9. Submit

This is the first stage complete. 


Installing Recaptcha on your Shopit sites


Now you need to apply to your Shopit sites.
  1. Login to your Shopit admin, and go to your Sales Channel Settings page. 

  3. Copy site key and secret key into sales channel settings

  5. When creating/editing a Form, enable the Recaptcha option.
  6. You can also enter an email to forward the message to a nominated external email address.
Note: The same Recaptcha API setup can be used for all the sales channels under one account. Remember to enter the  Site Key and Secret Key in ALL of the Sales Channels' settings pages.
